Technique:

The patient is asked to contract the muscles in the area being treated so the surgeon can determine the proper location for injection. In most cases, BTX is injected directly into the muscle with a tiny needle. It takes a few days to realize the effect of BTX injections.

  •  PROCEDURE TIME- Surgery takes approx. 5-10 minutes per procedure. It is done on either eye/ both eyes.
  • POSTOPERATIVE CARENo downtime. Patients can immediately resume normal activities. Long experience has proven BTX to be safe. To date, no systemic complications associated with BTX injections have been documented.
  • SUCCESS RATE Ranges from 80-95%%
  • RE-INJECTION The effects last from 3-4 months and require repeat treatments.
  • SIDE EFFECTS Possible side effects include local numbness, swelling, bruising, or a burning sensation during injection. Some patients have reported temporary headaches and nausea. Most complications are of short duration and can be avoided with proper injection techniques.

BTX injections for aesthetic purposes appear to be safe and effective. Patients, who show early signs of aging, as well as those who may not be suitable candidates for more extensive aesthetic facial surgery, may be good candidates for this procedure. Certain medications (some antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, or aspirin) and even some vitamins and herbs may increase the potency of BTX and may increase bleeding and bruising at the time of injection. Therefore, patients should be candid with their surgeon about all medications and supplements. Pregnant or nursing women should postpone undergoing this procedure. It is not known whether injection of BTX has any effect on a fetus or whether it is found in breast milk.

Frequently asked question

Botox, or botulinum toxin, is a neurotoxin injected to treat wrinkles by blocking muscle contractions that cause wrinkles. It works by relaxing specific facial muscles, and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This effect typically lasts about 3-6 months before the muscles regain movement and wrinkles return.

Botox injections serve several purposes, such as smoothing facial wrinkles temporarily, treating severe underarm sweating, alleviating cervical dystonia (severe neck and shoulder muscle contractions), addressing blepharospasm (uncontrollable blinking), managing strabismus (misaligned eyes), relieving chronic migraine, and controlling overactive bladder. They function by weakening or paralyzing specific muscles or blocking particular nerves, with effects lasting from three to twelve months, depending on the treated condition.

A Botox injector administers Botox injections, which function by weakening or paralyzing particular muscles or blocking specific nerves. These injections serve multiple purposes, including diminishing facial wrinkles and addressing conditions such as severe underarm sweating, cervical dystonia, uncontrollable blinking (blepharospasm), misaligned eyes (strabismus), chronic migraines, and overactive bladder. The duration of Botox's effects typically ranges from three to twelve months, depending on the treated condition. Using a fine needle, the injector precisely injects Botox into targeted muscles, leading to the relaxation and softening of wrinkles. Patients are advised to abstain from alcohol and certain medications before the procedure to minimize bruising and adhere to post-injection care instructions provided by the healthcare provider.

Yes, Botox offers facial benefits by diminishing wrinkles and fine lines and revitalizing the skin's appearance. Botox injections function by temporarily weakening specific facial muscles, smoothing wrinkles, and preventing them from deepening. Commonly targeted areas include forehead lines, frown lines ("11s" between the eyebrows), bunny lines on the nose, crow's feet around the eyes, lipstick lines above the upper lip, and jawline definition. Moreover, Botox can be used non-surgically for procedures such as a temporary "nose job" to lift the nose and a "lip flip" to enhance lip appearance. When given by a healthcare provider in the right way, Botox can create a natural and youthful appearance on the face.

Individuals receive Botox injections in targeted muscles beneath the skin across different facial, head, and neck regions. Common sites include the forehead, temples, back of the head and neck, and trigger points where headaches originate. Administered with a small needle, the procedure is brief, causing minimal discomfort. Typically, it takes 7 to 14 days to observe the full effects of Botox, with results lasting 3 to 6 months before requiring retreatment.
